Integrity Anti-Spyware Integration Simplifies PC Security Management; Offers Advanced Spyware Protection
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Nov. 7, 2005 – Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced the introduction of Integrity™ Anti-Spyware, an advanced spyware protection that is integrated into the company’s industry-leading endpoint security solution, Check Point Integrity. The integration offers customers the most comprehensive endpoint security solution available -- including fully integrated anti-spyware -- in a single client. By unifying anti-spyware and endpoint security, it simplifies PC security management by enabling all critical endpoint security functions to be delivered in a single client package and centrally managed from the same server.
Spyware is any software program that sends information about a user, the user’s behavior, the computer system, or the computer system’s use, without explicit permission from the user or the enterprise. The spyware wreaks havoc with IT administrators, end-users and network managers because it allows unauthorized entry into the network, causes bandwidth spikes and triggers PC and system outages, resulting in resource and business disruptions that lead to significant financial and proprietary losses for organizations of all sizes. The National Cyber Security Industry Alliance reported findings that eight out of every 10 PCs are infected with spyware, and Hewlett Packard (HP) makes a conservative estimate that spyware costs businesses $130 per incident.
