- Record quarter with 50% growth in revenues
- Operating result (EBIT) increases to Euros 4.3 million after six months
Oberursel, Germany, 24th January 2005 – According to current calculations, Utimaco Safeware has achieved revenues of Euros 18.4 million (previous year: Euros 13.6 million) in the first six months of business year 2004/2005 (1st July to 31st December). Following a strong second quarter with a record growth rate of 50 %, to Euros 11.1 million (previous year: Euros 7.4 million), the growth of 16.1 % achieved in the first quarter increased to 35 % after six months.
The Personal Device Security division, which specializes in software products for protecting data on mobile personal devices and in networks, increased its revenues by almost 30 % to Euros 13.5 million (previous year Euros 10.4 million). Revenue from the sale of software licenses increased disproportionally to 40 %.
Revenues of the Transaction Security division from projects for securing electronic business processes grew by more than 50 % to Euros 5.2 million including internal revenues of Euros 0.3 million (previous year Euros 3.4 million including internal revenues of Euros 0.2 million).
According to initial estimates, the consolidated operating result (EBIT) increased to around Euros 4.3 million (previous year Euros 2.0 million) after 6 months.
“I am pleased to say that this means we have earned more in the first six months of the current business year than in the entire previous business year,” said Christian Bohne, Utimaco's Financial Director. He continued: “We can now further increase our investments in extending our leading market position, while also improving our result for the year as a whole.”
The final results for the first six months of business year 2004/2005 will be announced and discussed in detail in a conference call for analysts on the 22nd February 2005.
