RIJSWIJK, 30 SEPTEMBER - Fox Crypto, onderdeel van Fox-IT, mag zich sinds augustus 2004 de exclusieve partner noemen van het Duitse Secunet Security Networks AG. Beide ondernemingen zijn een samenwerkingsverband aangegaan, waardoor Fox Crypto het exclusieve recht heeft om de producten rondom het SINA-concept (Sichere Inter-Netzwerk Architektur) in Nederland te verkopen. Deze aanvulling op de activiteiten van Fox Crypto is met name interessant voor de verschillende overheidsdiensten, zoals diverse ministeries die verplicht zijn om goedgekeurde apparatuur te gebruiken voor de communicatie van staatsgeheimen.
SINA is een VPN-oplossing, die is ontwikkeld door Secunet in opdracht van het Duitse BSI (Bundesamt für Sicherheit und Informationstechnik). Alle diplomatieke communicatie van de Duitse ambassades wordt op deze manier beschermd tegen afluisteren door andere overheden. In Nederland wordt deze oplossing op dit moment gekeurd. Na goedkeuring is SINA inzetbaar voor de beveiliging tot het staatsgeheim- niveau van “Confidentieel”. In combinatie met de FFCC (Fort Fox Crypto Card) is een staatsgeheim-niveau van “Geheim” te realiseren. De FFCC is ontwikkeld op basis van de V-Kaart van Philips Crypto. Het vertrouwen in de cryptografische beveiliging van SINA is zo groot dat de versleutelde gegevens zelfs via het publieke Internet verstuurd kunnen worden.
Het SINA concept is niet alleen bedoeld voor overheidsdiensten. Fox Crypto ontwikkelt ook SINA-versies die ingezet kunnen worden in het bedrijfsleven. Op deze manier kan het bedrijfsleven gegevens op het zelfde niveau beschermen als de overheid doet voor haar gevoeligste informatie.

Over Fox-IT
Fox Crypto started its activities in November 2003 and is an addition to the four Business Units of Fox-IT. The expertise of these four existing business units is also used in the projects of Fox Crypto.
Fox Crypto has acquired part of Philips Crypto’s unique cryptographical technology and offers several cryptographic services and products that are used in high security environments, including the state-secret classified environments of the Dutch government. All products are evaluated by the Dutch government to make sure that they can be used in these state-secret environments.
