LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/02/2004 -- Helinet Aviation Services announced today that it will showcase its Helinet/Cineflex® HiDEF aerial camera platform to European markets at next month's IBC2004 conference in Amsterdam. The Helinet/Cineflex® HiDEF is the lightest, most compact, fully digital aerial camera platform in the world and the first system to capture and transmit aerial high definition images for live broadcast.
First introduced at this year's NAB show in Las Vegas, the Helinet/Cineflex® HiDEF is currently in use at U.S. network television affiliates in New York, Denver, Phoenix and San Francisco. The system has also been used for live broadcast during NBA basketball playoff games on TNT. Vislink plc subsidiary, Microwave Radio Communications (MRC), provides the microwave transmission technology that enables the live broadcast of high-def images.
With its unparalleled long-distance image capture capabilities, the Helinet/Cineflex® HiDEF platform allows broadcasters to offer never-before-possible aerial images. In addition to television broadcasting, the new camera system also has applications for motion pictures and law enforcement.
Senior Helinet executives will be available at the booth to discuss the Helinet/Cineflex® HiDEF in further detail.
About the HiDEF Camera System
The Helinet/Cineflex® HiDEF is the product of Helinet Aviation Services recent acquisition of Cineflex, LLC, an engineering/design and manufacturing company specializing in motion control camera systems. Designed by Cineflex® founder John Coyle, the Cineflex® HiDEF is built around Sony's HDC-950 and the new HDC-F950 cameras. This is the latest in Helinet/Cineflex's line of gyro-stabilized aerial camera systems and the first to accommodate high-definition. This high-performance camera system has been enhanced even further by employing long focal length HD lenses for amazing long-distance image capture. Its stability and zoom capabilities far surpass any other gyro-stabilized system. For instance, the Helinet/Cineflex® HiDEF can clearly depict an automobile license plate from thousands of feet away.
