Winnaars van deze prijs hebben zich positief onderscheiden op het gebied van informatiebeveiliging in Europa. Tot dertig september 2004 kunnen individuen, projecten of organisaties worden aangedragen voor een award.

RSA® Conference announces 'The European Information Security Awards 2004' call for entries
Second annual awards to recognise and reward significant achievements in the field of information security across Europe BRACKNELL, United Kingdom, Tuesday August 24, 2004: The organisers of RSA® Conference Europe today announced that the 'The European Information Security Awards 2004' call for entries is officially open.
Being presented at the opening of the fifth annual RSA Conference Europe in Barcelona on 3rd November, these prestigious awards aim to recognise and reward the most significant achievements in the field of information security across Europe, as determined by a judging panel of respected industry professionals from across the world.
The European Information Security Awards 2004 are open to all individuals, companies and organisations with appropriate projects that have been active within a European country in the past year.
The 2004 Awards Categories
- Policy: Recognising the advancement and promotion of information security through the development of policy.
- Research & Development: Recognising future potential and awarded to individuals / organisations achieving security excellence in the field of R&D.
- Education & Training: Recognising innovation and excellence in the field of information security education and training.
- Implementation: Recognising security excellence in end-user implementations.
The European Information Security Awards are not open to sponsorship and there are no marketing opportunities available. The finalists and eventual winners will represent the absolute elite in their respective categories.
RSA Conference Europe's Managing Director, Tim Pickard, said: 'Building on the success of the inaugural awards in 2003, this year promises to be bigger and better. The expanded awards categories in the 2004 programme reflects our continued commitment to attracting entries from a full range of European security initiatives and to identifying and promoting key achievements. Winners and finalists will benefit from the following:

Every submission received will be subjected to a rigorous evaluation process, with final judging being conducted by an independent panel of respected security professionals, including; Prof Dr. Kai Rannenberg, Goethe University Frankfurt; Prof. Bart Preneel, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven; Prof. Peter Landrock, Founder and Executive chairman, Cryptomathic; and Dr. Burt Kaliski, Director of RSA Laboratories.
Prof Dr. Kai Rannenberg, Chair for Mobile Commerce and Multilateral Security at Goethe University Frankfurt, said: 'These awards are a great opportunity to honour the most significant security achievements in Europe with the recognition that they deserve.
