MUNICH, Germany - March 8, 2004 - PeopleSoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: PSFT) today announced the availability of the Dutch, French, and German language versions of PeopleSoft® Enterprise Service Automation (ESA) for IT. The new versions enable companies across Europe to run their IT departments more effectively by combining IT best practices with industry leading transaction systems, analytic applications, and role-based portals. PeopleSoft also announced the availability of PeopleSoft Project Costing Process Integration Pack for SAP, a pre-built solution that eases integration between PeopleSoft ESA for IT and SAP General Ledger.
CIOs around the world are embracing IT governance programs to measure the return on investment (ROI) of their technology projects and better articulate the value that technology brings to their organizations. With PeopleSoft's comprehensive solution now available in European languages, IT executives in countries across Europe will be able to track and monitor projects, manage IT resources, evaluate and approve project requests, and demonstrate the value of IT investments across the global enterprise.
PeopleSoft also announced PeopleSoft Project Costing Process Integration Pack for SAP. The new solution enables out-of-the-box integration by providing data transformation, routing, cross-reference maps, connectors, and adaptors to support the IT charge-back business process. As a result, organizations will be able to easily record project costs that are captured in PeopleSoft ESA for IT onto their SAP General Ledger system. With this capability, companies that use an IT shared-services model will be able to charge-back program expenses for IT services to the appropriate business units-a process that requires integration between PeopleSoft ESA for IT and the SAP General Ledger.
PeopleSoft ESA was named the leading ERP vendor in the market in the February 2004 METASpectrum Report for Project Portfolio Management (PPM).
PeopleSoft ESA was acknowledged for its superior product vision, its pure Internet architecture and its broad functionality for both back and front office processes. The META report provided an objective assessment of companies delivering products that coordinate, manage, and prioritize project and program portfolios and related resources.
"Tight integration with financial management systems is a hallmark of a strong PPM solution," notes Melinda Ballou, senior research analyst, META Group. "Maintaining custom interfaces can be an expensive reality for many firms with heterogeneous enterprise application environments. Vendors that provide pre-packaged product connectors make integration simpler for their customers, to help lower the total cost of ownership."
"New IT governance initiatives are forcing IT executives to more closely manage and track spending across their departments," said Renee Lorton, senior vice president and general manager, PeopleSoft Financial Management Solutions. "PeopleSoft ESA for IT provides a portfolio view of programs to enable IT executives to plan, spend, and manage IT more strategically and drive performance across business processes with technology."
The PeopleSoft ESA for IT Dutch, French, and German versions will be available on March 17, 2004. The PeopleSoft Project Costing Process Integration Pack for SAP will be available on March 24, 2004.
