Avaya Strengthens Leadership Team in Europe, Middle East and Africa

WATERLOO, BELGIUM - Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, today announced the strengthening of its management team in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with the appointment of three senior leaders covering channels, applications sales and service provider business operations.
      
Lars-Ole Hansen, Avaya's regional president, EMEA commented, "As we continue to grow our customer base in the region, and with the introduction of Internet Protocol (IP) Communications gaining real momentum, the need to provide tailored applications to meet specific businesses' demands is becoming increasingly apparent.  We believe that the expansion and reinforcement of solid relations with both channel partners and service providers is a pre-requisite in order to serve customers via their preferred suppliers and attain a wider market reach. We are delighted to welcome Buddie Ceronie, Kim Davis and Martyn Lambert to Avaya. Buddie Ceronie joins Avaya as vice president of channel and partner sales, EMEA and holds responsibility for Avaya's regional channel and partners strategy leading a team of channel professionals strategically located throughout the region.  Previously to this, he worked at 3Com, where he spent six years as area sales director for UK, Ireland, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Middle East, Africa and Nordics. Before his assignment with 3Com, Ceronie was a country manager at Xyplex Networks in South Africa.
      
Kim Davis joins as director of service provider business operations, EMEA. Within this role, he is leading regional operations within the management team as well as driving Avaya's business with service providers in EMEA, for defined technology and service offerings.
      
Prior to this, Davis was VoIP business solutions manager for Cisco EMEA. He brings a wealth of experience and service provider specific VoIP knowledge. During his career, he has held a number of senior positions in sales, marketing and product management at Nortel, Fujitsu and GEC Plessey Telecommunications.

Martyn Lambert joins as vice president applications sales, EMEA. He comes to Avaya from Sherwood International PLC, where he was chief operations and marketing officer responsible for leading the development of global marketing and channel sales.

Lambert has over 25 years experience in sales and marketing, and has held a number of senior positions in sales and marketing for Dell, Sun Microsystems, Pyramid Technology and Hewlett Packard. Lambert is responsible for Avaya sales in software in EMEA, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Unified Messaging and general telecoms software.
