KPN and the Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG) announce the introduction of Disney Mobile content on KPN’s i-mode™ service in the Netherlands. i-mode customers can now personalise their i-mode phones with Disney-themed wallpapers and ringtones based on classic and contemporary Disney characters and popular Disney animated films. The service also lets Disney fans keep up to date with the latest Disney news and promotions through their i-mode handsets with a free mobile Disney Fan Magazine.
KPN will be offering four different subscription Disney Mobile services for its i-Mode users. “Disney’s Sound Studio” contains a wide and constantly updated range of popular Disney ringtones, with 2 different levels of service available. The “Disney Parade” service consists of unlimited downloads of wallpapers, ranging from classic favourites, such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, to characters from modern hits such as The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. Finally, the “Disney/Pixar” service combines ringtones and images from popular Disney/Pixar films such as Toy Story, Monsters Inc and the latest record-breaking release Finding Nemo. All these services are available at a subscription rate of between €1 and €2 per month.
In close cooperation with Disney, KPN has also put together a special Disney/Pixar PrePay package for customers in the Netherlands which includes N223i i-mode handset from NEC, a €10 i-mode credit and a €15 Prepay credit, and a free CD and read-along book featuring 'Finding Nemo.' The package is available for €169.99.
"Disney is one of the absolute world leaders in providing attractive, high-quality family entertainment services. i-mode's real strength is delivering easy, comfortable access to attractive top-quality content. Our cooperation with Disney once again confirms i-mode as the platform for offering customers advanced services over the mobile phone," said Mark de Jong, Executive Vice President Corporate Development for KPN's mobile division.
Attila Gazdag, Vice-President and Managing Director WDIG Europe, added “We are glad to further extend our i-mode distribution footprint in Europe. Disney on i-mode has been a considerable success in Japan and France, and we look forward to working with KPN to replicate this in the Netherlands”.
