Network Associates Announces New McAfee SpamKiller and McAfee GroupShield for Lotus Domino

According to a recent Computer Security Institute Survey, financial losses attributed to inappropriate email and Internet use in the United States soared from $35,001,650 with an average loss per organization of $357,160 in 2001, to $50,099,000 with an average of $536,000 in 2002.

McAfee GroupShield offers secure content management capabilities that allow IT managers to establish rules to qualify email when it is received or before it is sent, both internally and externally. Undesirable content, such as profanity, sexist or racist subject matter, can be filtered before it enters the corporate network, preventing legal and productivity issues that can arise when employees receive offensive e-mail messages.

McAfee SpamKiller technology uses a highly accurate scoring system to determine whether a particular email is spam. With the extensive set of rules that run behind SpamKiller, each email receives a positive or negative score to determine its overall spam rating, and once spam is detected, messages are either delivered to the end-users inbox, personal junk mail folder or a system-wide junk folder.
