Vianen, July 23, 2003 - Being recognized twice in one year by one of the nation’s leading business publications is a big feat, especially during an economic downturn. A strong financial performance by StorageTek®, the storage services and solutions expert, helped it onto the premier list of the Forbes Global 2000. Earlier this year, Forbes also named StorageTek to its Platinum list, which featured big companies that Forbes believes have the best chance of both long- and short-term financial returns.
StorageTek Tuesday announced financial results for the second quarter.
The company posted its fourth consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth and its 12 consecutive quarters of earnings growth. The Forbes Global 2000, which is published in the July 14, 2003, issue of Forbes, was unveiled this year to highlight the world's biggest companies measured by a composite ranking of sales, profits, assets and market value. According to Forbes editors, those that make the list have the best composite ranking based on all four measurements.
"StorageTek has been successful during these challenging times because we help businesses solve their most pressing business issues," said Pat Martin, StorageTek chairman, president and CEO. "We help manage the flood of information flowing through their companies, while lowering the cost and improving the efficiency of their storage operations.

While 226 technology companies made the list, editors said, "When the technology slump ends -- which it will -- most of these stocks will no longer be available at such attractive multiples to estimated earnings."
In addition to the Forbes recognitions, StorageTek also has been named to the BusinessWeek InfoTech 100; FORTUNE Most Admired Companies in America (taking first spot in the computer peripheral category); Network World 200; and Healthcare Informatics 100. StorageTek products have received prestigious awards such as the Storage World MVP and the Datamation Product of the Year award.
StorageTek customers enjoyed recognitions for their innovative storage solutions, such as Storage Network World Best Practices in Storage award and two SearchStorage Innovator awards.
