Almere, 17 juli 2003 - Bell Microproducts, vooraanstaand Europees distributeur van storage-oplossingen, heeft Elmer Gutteling (53) benoemd tot Country Manager Nederland. Gutteling is in deze functie verantwoordelijk voor zowel Bell Microproducts als Bell Microproducts Solutions B.V.
Bell Microproducts heeft in Europa voor een zogenaamde 'single-country-approach' gekozen, waarbij per land één Bell-organisatie opereert met één country manager. Ieder land wordt door deze organisatorische constructie op een gelijke manier aangestuurd. Zo is het wereldwijde concern een servicegerichte organisatie met identieke doelstellingen en uitgangspunten.
Gutteling heeft jarenlange ervaring in de IT-wereld. Hij startte zijn loopbaan bij IBM waar hij tal van functies vervulde, waaronder die van General Manager AS/400 Division en General Manager Personal Systems Group.
Gutteling was verder werkzaam als Commercieel directeur voor B+P Solutions en als algemeen directeur voor Touch the Progress Group Nederland B.V., dat later door Bell Microproducts werd overgenomen.
"Ik ken Bell Microproducts goed vanuit het verleden. Onze wegen zijn indertijd gescheiden na de overname door Bell Microproducts omdat de nieuw ontstane directie gewoonweg te groot werd. De kans mijn oude liefde weer op te pakken, grijp ik dan ook met beide handen aan", aldus Gutteling. "Ik zie het als mijn taak om in internationaal teamverband de lokale business uit te breiden en in samenwerking met onze leveranciers een consistent assortiment te voeren in alle landen waar we als Bell Microproducts actief zijn. Een interessante uitdaging die ik samen met ons getalenteerde team met veel enthousiasme oppak."
Gutteling is verder actief binnen het Nederlands Centrum van Directeuren en Commissarissen (NCD) en B4IT, een vereniging van Nederlandse managers van ICT-bedrijven, die de IT-sector hebben zien ontstaan en er mede vorm aan hebben gegeven.
