Geneva, July 14, 2003 – Iomega International SA, the European Headquarters of Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in reliable portable data storage, is launching a new internal Dual DVD drive, the first of the Iomega DVD family. The Iomega® Dual DVD EIDE/ATAPI Drive is a DVD+RW 4x2.4x12x, DVD-RW 4x2x12x, CD-RW 16x10x40x drive allowing users to easily create and save multimedia data onto DVDs and CDs and view them on most DVD players.
Included with the Dual DVD drive are software titles for DVD/CD mastering, video editing and playback, music and photo management, and Iomega Automatic Backup software for the protection of files.
Using the new Dual DVD drive, Iomega's customers can:
· Protect music, videos and photos by transferring them to DVD and CD
· Record up to 4.7 GB of data files on a DVD disc
· Record up to 2 hours of high quality DVD video
· Store up to 700 MB of video, music, photos or data files on a CD disc
· Create and edit DVDs and view them on most DVD players.
The new drive is aimed at the creative enthusiast who enjoys videos, music, photos and who can now save and share their creations on DVD or CD using a single drive.
The new drive offers easy DVD and CD burning using Iomega's HotBurn Pro software. With HotBurn Pro installed, Iomega Automatic Backup software automatically backups your critical information. It also comes bundled with a wide range of market-leading software including Sonic MyDVD, Sonic Cineplayer, and MusicMatch.
The Iomega Dual DVD drive supports most DVD and CD formats, including reading and writing to CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW and also reading DVD-Rom and CD-Rom formats.
