KPN heeft de verkoop afgerond van zijn directe belang van 6,48% in Cesky Telecom die eerder vandaag werd aangekondigd. De aandelen zijn als één pakket verkocht aan Credit Suisse First Boston op maandag 16 juni 2003. De totale opbrengst van deze transactie bedraagt ca. EUR 220 miljoen.
De opbrengst van de aandelenverkoop wordt voor eind juni 2003 ontvangen. Het dividend van ongeveer EUR 80 miljoen over KPN's resterende belang in Cesky Telecom, die KPN via Telsource houdt, wordt ontvangen in oktober 2003. Het totaal te ontvangen bedrag van ongeveer EUR 300 miljoen zal worden gebruikt voor een verdere verlaging van de netto schuld van KPN.
