Heverlee, Belgium – 27th May 2003. Telindus, the Integrator and leading ICT service and solution provider, has officially launched its state of the art Network Operations Centre located at the company headquarters in Heverlee, Belgium.
In order to help customers realize the true value and potential of their network, Telindus’ International Service Centre (ISC) will co-ordinate the network and security management services to its clients around the globe on a 24/7 basis out of the newly constructed Network Operations Centre (NOC). The ISC typifies Telindus’ strategic approach with its focus on providing customers with an end-to-end service that supplies remote management services supported by locally based people and processes.
The NOC is the workplace for network and security analysts, who operate on a shift system to guarantee 24x7 operations. Strict security measures have been included in the design to have a fully secured operations centre, such as “four-eyes audit trail system” and smart card systems access. The NOC has also been equipped with extended redundancy features, dual Internet connectivity from two separate POPs and two different telco providers, as well as up-to-date data centre facilities, such as a UPS back-up diesel generator, and a separate fire distinguishing system.
The opening of the NOC enables Telindus to respond to the growing requirement of its customers for co-sourced services. Telindus has created a high level nucleus of pan European capability with the development of the International Service Centre, which serves to empower Telindus’ local country organizations. This enables Telindus to offer better economies of scale to the customer and provide high-end managed services to a growing marketplace.
“The ISC will build on the existing service capabilities that Telindus has in Europe and Asia. The aim is to offer a set of packaged services to our customers in the areas of network and security management,” says Dirk Peeters, Corporate Director ISC, Telindus.
The ISC’s services, such as network incident and performance management, firewall management, intrusion detection and configuration management, are provided to meet agreed service levels and are supported by local staff that understands the customers and their environment. In this way, the ISC offering complements consultancy, integration and managed services in the field and Telindus can guarantee a secure and trouble-free network.
“The network is a strategic asset for all our customers that needs to be managed by experts, and that is what we are providing”, adds Vincent Simonart, Vice President Operations, Telindus. “There are not so many network and security specialists in the marketplace and the area is becoming more complex with the convergence of technologies such as wireless, streaming video and satellite. Not all companies want to make the necessary investment to build such a unit in-house to keep their strategic assets operational and secure.”
