February 13, 2003 – Borland Software Corporation (Nasdaq NM: BORL) today announces sweeping new concepts in application lifecycle management resulting from several recent acquisitions. This first integrated product release is the result of the acquisition of TogetherSoft, a leading provider of platform-neutral, design-driven development solutions. Delivered well ahead of the planned integration of the post-merged companies, Borland® Together® Edition for JBuilder® and Borland® Enterprise Studio 5 for Java™ were developed with months of hard work and thousands of hours of development in research centers around the world to provide Borland customers with a new approach to application lifecycle management, uniquely breaking down the barriers that prevent people and technology from working together. The Borland approach integrates analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment technologies to accelerate the time it takes to develop and deploy business applications, increasing customers’ competitive advantage.
"Today’s announcement clearly shows that after careful planning and all the hard work of our integration teams at Borland, our integration plans are proceeding smoothly and ahead of schedule," said Dale L. Fuller, president and CEO of Borland. "Following a successful worldwide sales conference, where we completed the alignment of our global sales force, Borland is well-positioned to continue executing on its integration strategy. The release of fully integrated products shortly after the close of the TogetherSoft acquisition and months ahead of schedule is proof of our commitment to integration and to delivering new products that revolutionize the way companies develop and design software. We are well ahead of schedule and will continue to help our customers leverage the technology excellence that has become synonymous with Borland."
Together Edition for JBuilder, the latest release of the Together product line, is designed to work seamlessly with market-leading Borland JBuilder and help enterprises deliver better Java-based software faster. This new offering is also an integrated component of the new Borland Enterprise Studio 5 for Java, which features a leading integration of analysis, design, development, testing and deployment technologies.
By combining Together technology with JBuilder in Borland Enterprise Studio 5 for Java, Borland provides a high level of integration between the leading Java development solution and design and analysis tools, enabling an increase in productivity and quality. The result is better software getting to market faster.
"In today’s environment, enterprises are focused on speeding time to market for software applications," said Thomas Murphy of META Group. "As it becomes even more critical for developers to be able to move seamlessly through all of the steps between design and deployment, enterprises will increasingly seek out products with deep levels of integration between Java design and development."
