Following on from the substantial contract signed in the last week
of December with Oslo City Council (total value in excess of approximately
12 million euro), Unit 4 Agresso has won another substantial contract with
Gateshead Council, in North East England. Gateshead signed up for the
financial and business information management system, AGRESSO Business
World, in a managed service agreement (with a total value in excess of
approximately 950,000 euro).
Gateshead will implement the core financials, procurement and
e-business modules of AGRESSO Business World with a go live date of 1st
October.
AGRESSO will replace a mainframe-based system and under the managed
service element of the contract Agresso will specify and buy new IBM
Netfinity servers on behalf of the council. They will be installed on the
council's premises and managed remotely by Agresso via a dedicated ISDN line
bringing cost efficiencies for the council whilst allowing it to retain
complete control over its equipment.
Gateshead selected AGRESSO Business World on the basis of its
functionality and value for money. This latest public sector contract win is
further evidence of Agresso's expertise in this marketplace. The software is
specifically designed for organisations undergoing rapid change, suiting the
needs of public bodies being driven forward by wide-ranging government
initiatives.
