the new Tiscali channel dedicated to the European community

Cagliari/Brussels, December 3 2002. Earlier today Tiscali presented its brand new Europe channel during a meeting at the Charlemagne Building in Brussels. Present at the meeting were Renato Soru, the Tiscali CEO, a special appearance by Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission, Guido Podestà, Vice President of the European Parliament and Fabio Colasanti, Information Society Director General.

The Europe channel is a new Internet portal for all European citizens. It is an online guide designed for people to get to know, understand and live the European Community to the full and to share in the opportunities it brings. Thanks to the numerous theme areas, packed with information, Tiscali Europe is a major new reference point for keeping up to date with what is happening today in Europe.

The News section compiles all the useful information regarding the political, economic and business activities of the Union. Ample space is dedicated to European financing, with all the documentation regarding the various financing programmes that the Community offers sector by sector. Particular attention is also paid to the job market; keeping users up to date with the latest vacancies and European community projects and helping them look for work within the EU itself.

The Services category is divided into seven sections covering all the areas that are of interest to European citizens. These are just a few of the services that the channel offers and there are many more, all kept constantly updated.

In the Community area users can gain in-depth information on issues dealt with in the channel as well as finding answers to any doubts or queries they may have regarding the polls, forums and chats.

Last but not least, the channel could not lack the highly important News area. This is constantly updated and full of recommended articles from the major international dailies, left in their original language. Forums and polls complete this totally renewed space in the Tiscali portal.
