- Financial results
- Q2 record revenue of $4.91 billion represents growth of 7.0% year-over-year, or 9.5% in constant currency; growth was reported across all business segments and geographies
- Q2 FY22 represents Cognizant’s fifth consecutive quarter of revenue growth and highest quarterly revenue to date
- Record earnings per share: GAAP Diluted EPS of $1.11; Adjusted Diluted EPS of $1.14
- Operating Margin of 15.5%, up 30 basis points year-over-year
- Operating cash flow of $528 million and free cash flow of $485 million
- Digital revenue grew approx. 13% year-over-year, representing 50% of total revenue for the second consecutive quarter, indicating demand for Cognizant solutions as digital technologies become increasingly mainstream
- Headcount expanded to 341,000+ employees globally amid the intensely competitive labor market (Fun fact: Cognizant statistics show the company has been able to hire a new employee every 56 seconds, based on a 40-hour work week)
- Expects to return approx. $1.8 billion to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases for the full year, reflecting strength of balance sheet and near-term M&A outlook; declared July 2022 quarterly dividend of $0.27 per share
- Full-year 2022 outlook assumes the company will continue to balance margin performance and revenue growth; revenue growth guidance is 6.3% to 7.3, or 8.5% to 9.5% in constant currency
